Maternity and children’s wear ‘Blossom’ with new store

Lexington, KY – Stumbling upon a modest but charming retail space on Euclid Avenue back in November, Rebecca Kent knew immediately that the 750-square-foot spot was the perfect place to open up her first business.

Three months later, Kent became the owner of what is now Blossom, a high quality, fashion-forward boutique specializing in maternity and children’s clothing, and baby essential items.

Formerly the location for Cradle Will Rock, Kent obtained the space from the previous owners and local designer, Rhonda Smith –– who still produces handmade attire to be sold in the store –– in December. The store opened on Feb. 2, Kent’s birthday.

Recognizing an opportunity to provide fashionable, hip clothing for mommies-to-be and kids in the Lexington area, Kent, a mother of three young children, decided to spice up the Bluegrass with her new boutique.

“After having three kids, I realized that there was such a need for good maternity wear here in the Lexington area, and the central Kentucky area in general,” she said.
