Good Foods Market and Cafe is hosting an Eat Local Celebration from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. July 7, where visitors can support local farmers and taste samples from local producers.
Local producers include: Blue Sky of Kentucky Shiitakes; Doc’s Family of Foods; First Fresh Extra Virgin Olive Oil; Hughes Farm; Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese; Marksbury Farm Market; Pike Valley Farm Foods; Rooibee Red Tea; Sassa Bella; Sondra’s Wine Creations; and Sweetgrass Granola. Seedleaf will also be here to discuss the work they do in the community including the growing, cooking, sharing, and recycling of food.
This celebration is part of a month-long Eat Local campaign during the month of July. Good Foods defines local food as fresh products, such as meat and produce, raised or grown in Kentucky, and products which are processed and packaged in the state of Kentucky. During July and throughout the year, Good Foods helps shoppers identify local food by Kentucky Proud and Local logos and signs.
