First Time Mom’s Hen & Chick’s meeting2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
A free support group for first-time moms and their infants from birth to 6 months. Donna Miles, a certified postpartum doula, will act as facilitator as participants chat, laugh, share and support one another through one of the biggest life-changing events of a woman’s life. Meetings will begin with gentle upper body stretches for those tired “mommy muscles,” followed by some chat time and ending with a fun or relaxing activity. Musical Remix Bootcamp – Teen/Adult Classes @LASC6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Taught by Brian Bertucci Pick one of several songs, then use a computer to change the rhythm, arrangement, and mix of the instruments. Learn how to use Mixcraft software to edit and re-arrange sounds, and how to use virtual instruments to add your own parts. Participants will learn in-depth use of EQ, Reverb, Compression, and Delay, and leave with a CD copy of their original remix! This exhibition features the works of Ann Coddington-Rast, Jennifer Reis, and Lisa Mesa-Gaido. Eastern Illinois University Associate Professor Ann Coddington-Rast explores the human condition in her sculptural groupings by combining natural materials with forms created using the traditional basketry technique of twining. Morehead State University Assistant Professor Jennifer Reis investigates personal and cultural issues with her hand-worked embellished textile assemblages. Inspired by children’s stuffed animals, Morehead State University Professor Elizabeth Mesa-Gaido’s soft sculptures are inviting and cuddly while simultaneously questioning contemporary fashion design, both in its absurdity and beauty.

A free support group for first-time moms and their infants from birth to 6 months. Donna Miles, a certified postpartum doula, will act as facilitator as participants chat, laugh, share and support one another through one of the biggest life-changing events of a woman’s life. Art Exhibit – Undivided Attention: Three Distinct Voices in Contemporary Fiber9:00 am – 5:00 pm
August 14 – October 5, 2013; M-F 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Gallery Hop Reception: September 20, 5 -8 p.m. Experience three distinct and different voices from the world of contemporary fiber art. This exhibition features the works of Ann Coddington-Rast, Jennifer Reis, and Lisa Mesa-Gaido. Eastern Illinois University Associate Professor Ann Coddington-Rast explores the human condition in her sculptural groupings by combining natural materials with forms created using the traditional basketry technique of twining. Morehead State University Assistant Professor Jennifer Reis investigates personal and cultural issues with her hand-worked embellished textile assemblages. Inspired by children’s stuffed animals, Morehead State University Professor Elizabeth Mesa-Gaido’s soft sculptures are inviting and cuddly while simultaneously questioning contemporary fashion design, both in its absurdity and beauty.

Republican Women’s Club Meeting11:00 am – 1:30 pm
Fayette County Republican Women’s Club monthly meetings are held February – December, the first Wednesday of the month, at Spindletop Hall. Registration begins at 11:00am, meeting begins at 11:30am. Lunch served during business meeting. The club features local programs as well as state and national candidates.
